Who we are:
West County Community High School is a small, community-driven school that emphasizes student-directed learning, social and emotional well-being, and a rigorous and diverse curriculum serving the students of West Contra Costa County. Our goal is to empower students to be motivated, competent, life-long, autonomous learners who are honest and engaged community members prepared to pursue all of their life goals. To this end, we create courses and a school structure that promote self-knowledge, develop effective habits of work, surpass the California standards, and encourage every participant (students, teachers, staff, and parents) to be active members of the school community. Currently in its second year, we serve ninth, tenth, and eleventh graders. Applicants are encouraged to visit Peacekey website and Challenge Day website (the organization on which our social/emotional program is based).
